It is up to the individual to save more energy, waste less resources and understand the ecological challenges of tomorrow. We hope to open the doors to a greener way of thinking in the years to come with our emphasis on walk-ability, energy efficiency and water conservation.

Hiranandani Gardens in Powai is planned for rain water harvesting and ground water recharge. The rainwater collected is used in gardens and to wash cars. 100% sewage recycling since 1989.

The Water is also treated by a Reverse Osmosis plant to create portable drinking water. Water recycling or reuse measures (Gray water and process recycling systems) are also employed and the gray water treated in the sewage treatment plant is used for flushing, gardening and construction activities.

The company also actively charges defunct Bore wells to increase water table in the Powai region.

The use of sanitary ware of 3/6 liters flushing systems that ensures a considerable reduction in the use of water.

The use of Ceramic Sanitary Fittings to ensure minimal leakage as against the local Overhead showers ( 20 LPM water discharge) ensures water savings of around 32 %.
Tremendous care is taken to plant species which are indigenous and specific to the soil and geography of the community developments. This is implemented through our in-house horticulture team that conducts thorough scientific research on bio-diversity and introduces a host of beautiful and exotic species into our projects, making our landscapes strikingly unique.

The Hiranandani Group has won many first place awards for our horticultural accomplishments year after year. In the 2008-2009 garden competitions, we received eighteen first place trophies including in the categories of Best Avenue of Trees, Best Public Garden and Best Landscape Display.
The lighting design of most of Hiranandani's public zones like Lift Lobbies, Common Lobbies, Gardens and various office spaces employ fixtures of PL lamps only, thus, making a major saving in energy consumption without sacrificing the amount of light required.

Energy consumption is also reduced, by employing intelligent building ideas like automatic shut-off of lights when a space is unoccupied for public areas like toilets. These sensors can also switch off the lights when an area not in use after a preset time.
The Hiranandani group introduced the usage of Fly ash in concrete. This mineral residue is produced by burning coal and is thereafter mixed into concrete. This is an environmental friendly practice that is globally accepted.
